Call for Proposals
Graduate Student Symposium
October 29-30, 2015
York University, Toronto, ON
The Global Labour Research Centre invites proposals for presentations at its upcoming graduate symposium on work and labour studies. To encourage the formation of the broadest intellectual community, we invite proposals on a wide range of issues related to the field. Submissions can include, but are not limited to, dissertation proposals or chapters, major research papers, or course papers. Participants are especially encouraged to present on works in progress. The symposium is designed to provide an interdisciplinary venue for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows to share their research ideas in a collaborative and supportive environment.
The conference will take place at York University, Toronto on October 29-30, 2015. The two-day event will include thematic panels to discuss research issues. One panel will address the question of the role of the labour scholar in movement-building and will include perspectives from outside the academic community.
